Design and build a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture. Start with a discussion on the characteristics of wood to gain an understanding of the design and building process. Cover all machines used in dimensioning and shaping lumber and learn various methods of joinery for different structures to ensure strength and longevity. Explore different kinds of finishes, including milk paint.

Chairs made easy. In this class we will cover the basic woodworking tools and machines used for dimensioning rough lumber into fine crafted furniture. As a class, we will build a standard chair structure using floating mortise-and-tensions. From this, each student will design and shape their chair into their very own unique piece of art.

Design and build a one-of-a-kind table. Starting with a discussion on the characteristics of wood, the class will jump straight into design and creating full-scale drawings. We will cover all machines used for the dimensioning and shaping of rough lumber into finely crafted furniture; including getting the most out of your router for those fine details made easy. The class will cover the structural aspects of joinery with a focus on using floating mortise-and-tenons. We will cover finishes along with texturing and milk paint.
