In this class students will learn the fundamentals of woodturning.  We will go through the techniques of creating the general shapes that make up the most complex forms in woodturning, creating our own wooden mallet to fit our hands.  Building on this knowledge, we will design and create the legs for a small stool which we will then attach to our seat using a wedged through mortise and tenon joint.  And bring one more layer of individuality to our awesome pieces of furniture, with paint and color pencil techniques including masking and stenciling, on and off the lathe.
